Being able to connect your frame to a smartphone hotspot can come in handy in cases where a WiFi is not available or for troubleshooting your WiFi connection.
Below are instructions on how to create a hotspot from your smartphone and how to connect the frame to the hotspot:
Hotspot on an iPhone
- Go to Settings
- Go to "Personal Hotspot"
- Enable "Allow Others to Join" and set the Wi-Fi password (min. 8 characters long)
- Note: If you have an iPhone 12 or later, make sure to enable the setting "Maximize Compatibility"
Hotspot on an Android
- Go to Settings
- Go to "Network & internet"
- Go to "Hotspot & tethering"
- Set up a hotspot with a name and a password (min. 8 characters long) and turn it on
Once enabled, the name of the hotspot should appear in the Wi-Fi settings on the frame.
Press the hotspot and enter the password.
Your frame should now be connected to your smartphone hotspot.
